Sustaining Lab Technician M/V

The Sustaining Engineer Group is responsible for enabling the continued operation of our thermal products—including cables, components, and electronics. The primary objective of the Sustaining Lab Technician is to provide technical support on Sustaining projects. Through collaboration with Integrated Supply Chain, Thermal Technology, and Product Management, the Sustaining Lab Technician will verify product performance, maintain product solutions to international standards, and qualify obsolescence replacements.

•Conduct testing of thermal products in accordance with standard methods using a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and material test methods and instruments.
•Follow test plans with limited oversight.
•Perform standards and approvals testing and obtain certification through witness testing.
•Provide support to Product Management, Approvals, Operations, and New Product Development.
•Under supervision, build prototypes and perform electrical and mechanical tests as required. Provide feedback to engineers and the development team.
•Generate summary reports on data collected, including graphical and statistical analysis, for work related to assignments.
•As needed, propose the most appropriate solution among a set of learned possible choices. Exercise judgment in line with established processes and standards. Follow set guidelines and procedures with some flexibility and creativity without sacrificing safety or quality standards.
•Attend local project meetings as required.
•Follow nVent standard work and procedures.
•Be knowledgeable of and compliant with local safety procedures and policies.
•Control, calibrate, and maintain the inspection, measurement, and test equipment in designated laboratory spaces.
•Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical testing instrumentation.

Vaardigheden & kennis

•Completion of high school or equivalent technical training.
•3 - 5 years industrial technical experience; hands-on research and development experience preferred; experience with electrical testing a plus.
•Ability to:
oconstruct prototypes with minimal supervision
oconduct technical experiments
ouse electrical test equipment
ogather and organize data from tests
operform basic analysis on data
ocommunicate observations and results
•Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
•Good written and verbal communication skills.
•Collaborate well with local and remote team members.


Completion of high school or equivalent technical training.
3 - 5 years industrial technical experience; hands-on research and development experience preferred; experience with electrical testing a plus.

This is a temporary job of 6 months, with an opportunity of a contract with the company itself in case of excellent work.
